Redstart School.

A very successful evening at Redstart School in Chard on Tues 25th February!  It didn’t look promising, but the clouds cleared in time for excellent views of Jupiter and its moons. Approximately 160 children and parents attended. They also heard short talks on the Gemini/ Orion part of the sky. Mike Holland, Nick Colthorpe, Mike Egan and Ron Westmaas were the ‘astronomers in residence’. Thanks to Jeremy Handscomb of Redstart for inviting us.

  1. Hi, last tuesday my grandson asked me if I would take him to the stargazing and storytelling evening at his school. (Redstart). We did come along and were very interestested in the subject. He then did, as he often does, asked if I would like to buy a telescope which he could share. To this end, I would like to ask you what sort of thing I should be looking for. I have been looking on s/h sites and there appears to be a vast range with all sorts of figures attached to them. I will be looking at up to £100, less if possible.
We would both like to thank you for an entertaining and informative evening.
