Arthur Davis
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of our friend Arthur Davis. Arthur had been unwell for some time. He passed away peacefully at Watford Hospital, Herts on 4th September.
Arthur was a founder member of CADAS (and other Astronomical Societies) and one of the most regular attenders at our meetings. Arthur was an extraordinarily generous benefactor to CADAS and we have been grateful for his many donations of various kinds.
Over the years we have benefitted greatly from Arthur’s monthly sky notes and his many interesting and instructive illustrated talks. He was also always happy to share his extensive astronomical knowledge with us.
We send our condolences to his relatives and many friends.
RIP

Such sad news.
Arthur encouraged me to join, but not in the usual salesman like way we often experience, but in his quiet and generous way that we knew him for in his every day life.
You don’t often see affection expressed for a member at the meetings of a club/society, but Arthur did receive it regularly and openly.
Astronomy is poorer for it’s loss of such an enthusiastic person as Arthur, but it has gained over the years from dedication, and generosity.
Rest in Peace.
