July meeting

It was good to welcome our visitors to the meeting. Hope they enjoyed the evening. Thanks to everyone who taxed the so called ‘experts’ Bill, Arthur, Adrian and Ron with some great questions.  If anyone comes up with the answer to the one about the interaction between dark matter and black holes, please let us know! :-)

Bill and Ron showed some of their recent images and Arthur finished with his monthly sky notes.

The Perseid meteor shower will have occurred before our next meeting so fingers crossed for clear skies especially around 12-13 August. If you manage to capture any meteors, it would be great if you could share your efforts at the next meeting.

CADAS will have a stand at the South West Astronomy Fair at the Norman Lockyer Observatory. It runs from 9.30 -5.30 on Saturday 8 August. Lots to see and do so it is well worth a visit! Hope to see you there.

As usual, many thanks to Zena for refreshments and to those who helped in the kitchen. Thanks too to the willing hands who set up and cleared away the hall.

Next month’s meeting will feature Bob Mizon’s Mizar Planetarium. Always a good evening so hope you can make it.
